It’s a great week for local music on the ARIA charts, with a slew of Aussie acts dominating with new and old releases.

Leading the charge is local rockers Birds Of Tokyo, with their new record, Human Design, debuting at #1 on the Albums chart following an appearance on Anzac Day TV concert Music From The Home Front, marking their second chart-topping record in Australia.

Speaking with The Music ahead of the album’s release, frontman Ian Kenny noted: “I’ve always been very fortunate to have Birds as an outlet for me to speak about anything I’m going through and use that as a way to heal and move forward.

“I definitely got into a good enough space and a safe enough space within the band to kind of just tell is how it is.”

They’re not the only Aussie act to enjoy a sales boost from Music From The Home Front, with Dean LewisA Place We Knew jumping to #13 on the Albums chart, followed by Tame Impala’s The Slow Rush at #19 and Tones & I’s The Kids Are Coming EP at #27, while Cold Chisel’s The Best Of Cold Chisel: All For You, G Flip’s About Us and Paul Kelly's Songs From The South: Paul Kelly's Greatest Hits 1985-2019 re-enter that chart at #38, #42 and #48 respectively.
