The Yarra River festival has announced a big chunk of their music contingent with more to come
Melbourne's Labour Day long weekend Moomba festival have dropped a sweet first lineup of Aussie talent with indie rockers Ball Park Music headlining the festival on the banks of the Yarra River, backed by acts like Strange Talk, Jordie Lane and Dubmarine over the free weekend.
With a long and proud history of performances, the Moomba festival has recently been reinvented to appeal to a much broader audience of varying ages and tastes, and from 8 - 11 March, fans will get a taste of 49 acts across three stages.
Its annual four-day festivities have experienced large audiences for some time, and 2012's festival saw over one million people visit the all-free Yarra events.
This year, organizers have promised a festival even bigger and better, bragging this full music lineup, activities, such as the Moomba Parade, Birdman Rally and the Moomba Masters waterskiing, as well as opening and closing night cultural acts to be announced in the New Year.
The festivities will take place at Birrarung Marr and Alexandra Gardens, on the banks of the Yarra River.
Saturday 9 March – Ball Park Music, Strange Talk, Battleships, Yung Warriors, All The Colours, Winter People.
Sunday 10 March – Dubmarine, The April Maze, Hey Geronimo, Mark Seymour, Jackson McLaren, more to be announced.
Monday 11 March – Electric Empire, Jordie Lane, Ruby Boots, Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson, Bob Evans.
