For the last ten years, Sydney-based creative agency Undr Ctrl has pushed dance music culture to the masses across Australia. Boasting a roster of local acts like producers 1tbsp, Golden Vessel and Mickey Kojak to international artists like Denmark’s Amotik and US rapper Pell, Undr Ctrl has consistently bridged the gap between homegrown and overseas talent to sit under the one umbrella of championing the essence of dance music.
Over their ten years of operation, Undr Ctrl has been able to run their festival Output, which was set on Sydney’s Goat Island in 2017 and 2018 and featured dance music heavy hitters like Mall Grab, Dj Seinfeld and CC:DISCO!. They’ve been able to host Boys Noize, Digitalism and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs through The Island LIVE music series on Sydney Harbour, and present iconic album launch parties for some of our greatest Australian music acts including Rüfüs Du Sol, Hayden James and Crooked Colours.
For their tenth birthday, the creative agency has hosted several exclusive parties across the country, featuring over 30 artists across four venues in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Having wrapped up their first two parties at Melbourne’s Revolver and Sydney’s Chinese Laundry, they’re hosting one last party at Sydney’s Greenwood Hotel before wrapping up birthday celebrations in Brisbane. Undr Ctrl’s last two parties featured a heated lineup of international selectors like Aotearoa’s Frank Booker and Aroha and the UK’s Dr Banana, as well as homegrown DJs Baschoe, Shantan Wantan Ichiban and dance music five piece Total Giovanni.
Undr Ctrl: A Decade Of Dance will take over Greenwood Hotel’s outdoor courtyard in Sydney next Sunday, November 17th from 2 PM to 10 PM. Aussie electronic music duo Bag Raiders, famously known for their viral hit Shooting Star, will be headlining the event alongside fellow electronic music duo Set Mo. Dance producer and musician Touch Sensitive will provide an exclusive DJ set alongside South Australia’s Late Nite Tuff Guy, Sydney’s Poolclvb, Lost Sundays resident DJ Luen. club kid Troy Beman and electronic pop musician Chase Zera, with triple J’s Lucy Smith on hosting duties.
