"Artists can be selling to their fans in hours not weeks."
An all-Australian print-on-demand drop shipping website will launch this Friday to help local acts raise funds amid the COVID-19 crisis.
Brisbane muso Joseph Knox-Wheeler has announced The Merch Desk, which has been described as a “solution for artists and musicians to help them start selling merch within hours”.
"The Merch Desk is designed to remove all barriers that would otherwise stop artists offering merch to their fans and supporters,” Wheeler said.
“The Merch Desk costs nothing to get started and with their help artists can be selling to their fans in hours not weeks."
Artists can sign up, upload designs and then fans can start buying merch immediately, with a majority of the profits going back to the artist.

The Merch Desk will utilise Brisbane-based company The Print Bar to print merch and graphic designer/illustrator Jimmy Patch, who can assist with designs if artists need.
According to Wheeler, the average profit on a shirt sold at $30 is just over $20, with $20 going to the artist, $1 to The Merch Desk (to cover website and running costs) and the rest going to The Print Bar to cover the cost of production.
