The Official Chart Company in the UK have revealed the most successful streaming hits of each year from 1952 to 2022.
Their findings will be unveiled to the public live on BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2 next weekend to celebrate 70 years of the UK Singles Chart.
Songs like Gene Kelly's Singin' In The Rain and Juicy by The Notorious B.I.G. were the biggest hits of their respective calendar years, while the list features everyone from Elvis Presley to The Beatles to Harry Styles and Adele.
The Aussies come out to play starting in the 1990s, with AC/DC snagging the top-streamed hit of 1990 with Thunderstruck.
We reappear in the 2010s with three songs becoming the most-streamed songs of their calendar years. Vance Joy's Riptide replaced 2013's most prominent radio hit, Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines, which has fallen out of favour in recent years. Sia's Cheap Thrills takes the 2015 spot, while Tones And I owns the 2019 place with Dance Monkey.

Interestingly, the Journey hit Don't Stop Believin' wasn't so huge upon release in 1981, peaking at #62. However, following the song's inclusion in the season finale of The Sopranos and season opener of Glee, the track found new fans and is now the most-streamed hit of that year; passing Survivor's Rocky anthem Eye Of The Tiger and Dexys Midnight Runners' classic, Come On Eileen.
Another song with a similar fate is Ray Charles's I Got A Woman, now the most-streamed song of 1954 after being interpolated in Kanye West's 2005 hit, Gold Digger.
Bryan Adams' lead single for Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, (Everything I Do) I Do It For You spent 16 consecutive weeks at #1 in 1991 - an all-time chart record - but has subsequently been beaten out by grunge fans who have streamed Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit far more.
The song that has spent an unprecedented 338 weeks on the UK singles chart and received over 1.5 billion streams on Spotify alone, The Killers' Mr Brightside, is easily the most played song of 2003.
