WAM announces decision.

Disgraced Australian tour promoter Dave Cutbush has been stripped of a prestigious music award following a number of sexual misconduct allegations made against him.

As The West Australian reports, the ex-Life Is Noise promoter will lose the Golden WAMi, awarded to him in 2012 by the WA Music Industry Association.

"WAM is both disappointed and angry in equal measures that someone from our local music community has acted in this way and over an extended period," WAM chief executive, Mike Harris, said.

Meanwhile Perth community radio station, RTRFM, which Cutbush worked with in the '90s (as well as a six-year stint as music director from 2004-2010) has also distanced itself in a statement posted to Facebook; see the full post below.

However general manager Stuart McLeod today told The West Australian, "There is no record of any complaint of conduct of the kind alleged against Mr Cutbush while he was employed or as a volunteer presenter at RTRFM".

The news come after US acts, Sleep and Chelsea Wolfe, axed their respective Australian tours following the allegations.

Cutbush, who was sacked from Life Is Noise following allegations that involved engaging in online conversations with a 16-year-old female, admitted to "inappropriate and sleazy" behaviour in an open letter issued on Friday.
