There wasn't too much for triple j to be disappointed with as far as breakfast is concerned either, as Ben & Liam pulled in a share of 3.9, just 0.1 point down from the last survey of 2016.

Nova 100 have taken out the bragging rights for FM breakfast with an overall share of 8.1 (up an impressive 1.7 points), while Hamish & Andy have topped FM drive yet again for Fox FM, despite dropping a massive 3.1 points, to claim an overall share of 11.7.

Ben & Liam suffered their toughest outing in the Brisbane market, dropping 0.9 points in breakfast to hold a share of 7.1. It wasn't all bad news for triple j though, thanks to some healthy boosts in the evening slot (up 4.4), weekend slot (up 2.3), drive slot (up 2.1) and afternoon slot (up 1.0).

The race to #1 on FM breakfast was extremely tight, but Hit 105 came out the victors with an 11.9 share, toppling Triple M (11.8) and 97.3 FM (11.1).

Despite this, 97.3 FM pulled in the best figures of all the FM stations, taking in a weekday share of 12.8, well ahead of Triple M, who claimed a share of 11.5.

Though Ben & Liam fell by 0.9 in the breakfast slot for an overall share of 7.8, triple j managed to increase their weekday share by 1.0, thanks to nice boosts in the afternoon and drive slots, a nice turnaround from 2016's final results.

Kate, Tim & Marty dominated the FM drive slot for Nova 93.7 along with Mix 94.5, who beat out their rivals by just 0.1 points to come in at #1 with an overall share of 14.1.

Mix 94.5 were the winners for the overall weekday share though, claiming a 14.8 share, well ahead of Nova who pulled in a 12.4.

Triple J have claimed to The Music that these ratings have seen the network break its five-city reach record, by reaching 2.079 million listeners per week. These figures have broken triple j's previous record of 2.070 million listeners per week.
