A data error initially kept Kanye from top spot, reportedly.
After announcing on Saturday that Troy Cassar-Daley and Adam Harvey's The Great Country Songbook had beaten Kanye West's Yeezus to the number one position on the ARIA Album Charts, ARIA have now reissued their charts for this week, claiming a data error meant the calculation was incorrect.
As such, Kanye's Yeezus was the number one album of last week after all and The Great Country Songbook has landed in second position.
"ARIA would like to inform Australian music fans that, due to a data error discovered after initial publication, this week's ARIA Albums chart has been recalculated," ARIA said in an email to subscribers. “This has resulted in a change to the top of the chart, with Kanye West moving to the #1 spot with the album “Yeezus”, and 'The Great Country Songbook' (Troy Cassar-Daly and Adam Harvey) to #2."
ARIA CEO Dan Rosen told theMusic.com.au this afternoon that certain sales thought to be eligible for this week's chart were later found to be ineligible.

"The issue experienced in Friday's calculation was due to a data classification error, whereby a small number of sales that were initially considered eligible, were later found to be ineligible for chart calculation purposes," he said.
"This more detailed information only became available to ARIA, after the initial publication of the charts. Given the very close race for the #1 position this week, this was enough to impact the result at the top of the chart."
Yeezus is now Kanye West's first ever number one album in Australia, after previously landing in second spot with 2007's Graduation and 2011's Jay-Z collaboration Watch The Throne.
