Interview - Royal Blood
The buzz may be well-deserved but Royal Blood aren't to sure how to deal with it.. Royal Blood's rise to the top is already becoming mythologised after Arctic Monkeys drummer Matthew Helder wore their shirt when he played at Glastonbury 2013. Furthermore, they were later asked back by the Monkeys to play their two-sold out Finsbury Park gigs. Finsbury Park holds around 40,000 people. That's 80,000 people. Furthermore, they already have over 60,000 fans on Facebook, and only one EP. When Liam Apter spoke with Mike Kerr (lead singer/bassist) and Ben Thatcher (drummer) they took a fairly aloof stance towards questions about their management, debut album, the recording process and coming from Brighton with dead-pan humour. Indeed, it provided a refreshing break that the band could readily joke about whether Batman was alive or not. But it also raised questions about how comfortable Royal Blood are with their newfound stardom, either that or it's really not too high on their agenda at the m

Interview - Jungle
One of Splendour's most hyped acts get deep with Liam Apter.. Jungle quickly became a sensation by the end of 2013 with only two singles, Platoon and The Heat because of their brilliant videos. Featuring B-Girl Terra and High Rollaz respectively it was hard not to love the simplistic but irresistible nature of their music. Come 2014, Jungle rolled out with Busy Earnin', Time and now they're on their way down for Splendour In The Grass. Liam Apter got a hold of one half of Jungle, Josh, the other being Thomas which is short for J and T respectively. They quickly dispelled the anonymous tagline of Jungle, something created by the internet, and got down to the importance of being honest in music. Furthermore, they grappled with the issue of ego, dealing with expectation in a world that demands so much and how seeking appreciation from others constantly is ultimately corrupting. It isn't your typical interview where the band pumps out fluffy answers, and if you're lucky you might come away

Swick & Douster - Internet Dreams
Great concept, epic tunes.. Aussie club kid weirdo extraordinaire Swick has joined forces with French bass maestro Douster for the Internet Dreams EP. The concept release combines the internet sounds and imagery of days gone by with the duo's combined production talent for an awesome four-track, downloadable on a trippy platform at the website WWW.INTERNETDREAMS.NET. Each track has its own unique story, best explained by gents themselves: OS WAR III: The sound of the great battle between operating systems, from the first ms-dos all the way to mac os x. 56K DESERT CONNECTION: Tales of a man stuck in the desert losing his mind trying to stream the final game of the 2011/12 Barclays premier league. HACKERS CONVENTION JAM: 10 of the best young hackers from all around the world compete to hack the system first in the annual hackers convention. We managed to have the first two competitors on record. CHAMPIONSHIP RINGTONE LEAGUE: An ode to the graal of ringtones, our beloved Nokia theme.

Interview - Daktyl
The British beatmaker currently killing it. Rich Lonbay, more commonly known as Daktyl, has been killing it lately with some impressive originals being released on labels like DIE HIGH and Hegemon. The British born producer has been working hard to accompany an already notable onslaught of remixes, with some dope tunes of his own. As an artist, Rich is incredibly versatile, straddling the line between chill trap and more ambient experimental stuff. Labeling this guy a genre wouldn’t do him justice. Although his brand of chill trap is something special, complementing obscure melodies with on-point percussion. Daktyl is currently taking over the world beginning with his tour of the U.S. In between his hectic schedule of shows, studios and rest, he found time to give us five and talk a little about what’s been going on.
