Travis Barker ProfileTravis Barker took to his Instagram Stories to reveal why he was hospitalised this week, telling fans he required surgery to fix a nerve in his arm.
He shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed with his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, beside him, on Wednesday (7 October). Barker wrote: “I had surgery yesterday. My arm, hand and fingers have been numb since a show I played last month.
“I did a nerve test Monday after my show and turns out I needed a cubital tunnel release to fix the nerve.”
The blink-182 drummer added that he “wanted to get ahead of it” and get the surgery over with so he could return to “playing the way I play for a long, long time.” He assured fans he “should be good in a few weeks” and joked that Kardashian looked happy in the photo.

Complex notes that in 2023, the drummer dislocated his ring finger and tore ligaments in his hand during rehearsals. He needed surgery to repair the damage.
“It was a hard decision to make, but ultimately I couldn’t continue to play the drums without it,” he said at the time. “It was inevitable that my finger would have dislocated again without fixing the torn ligament surgically.
“So grateful for Dr. Shin and that my surgery was a success so that I can keep doing what I love and see you guys on tour soon.”
In August, a documentary about the renowned drummer, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear, landed on Disney+.
The documentary follows Barker’s journey “as he embarks on a raw and redemptive journey,” which began after he survived a devastating plane crash, where he nearly died, and didn’t fly for years.
It also goes beyond Barker’s fame as the drummer of blink-182. It details a “complex man” who deals with pain, grief, and the “thin line between survival and surrender.” Plus, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear showcases his collaborators, punk rock icons, and loved ones.
“This is the story of the man behind the tattoos,” the synopsis reads. “A tribute to those who keep going when the music almost stops.”
In early 2024, blink-182 returned to Australia for a 15-date tour with special guests Rise Against. After the tour, Barker auctioned items from the shows, including his Qantas boarding pass from Sydney to Perth, and showed support for Aussie hardcore outfit SPEED.
