Phantoms join Trial And Error Records
Within a year Sydney’s Phantoms, made up of ex-members of local hardcore outfit Jack Napier and punks Rex Banner, have chalked up two demos and a stack of van miles, taking their brand of vintage metallic hardcore on the road to share stages with the likes of Evergreen Terrace, Fireworks, The Amity Affliction, 50 Lions and Carpathian. Fresh from signing with trusted Melbourne hardcore label Trial And Error, the band are set to release their debut album As Above, So Below this September with a full scale national tour to follow. Recorded at Electric Sun Studios (House Vs Hurricane, Thy Art is Murder), As Above, So Below combines the raw pit-churning energy of acts like Blacklisted and Madball with the metallic fury of Merauder and Pantera along with genre bending moments of tribal percussion, Led Zeppelin-esque organs and Middle Eastern guitar work. As Above, So Below is out September 10 through Trial And Error/ Stomp
