After more than 30 years as one of the country’s most influential and long-running record labels, Chapter Music has announced it’s the End Of An Era – and they’re throwing a party to celebrate.
First founded in 1992 by Guy Blackman, Chapter has released acclaims albums from some of Australia's greatest names. Alongside veterans such as Essendon Airport, Minimum Chips, and Primitive Calculators, contemporary names such as Dick Diver, Beaches, and The Goon Sax have all appeared on the label over the years.
However, Chapter have now said that their next three releases – including Teether & Kuya Neil's YEARN IV, Npcede's debut self-titled EP, and Blackman's second solo album Out Of Sight – will be their last contemporary titles to arrive.
Following that, the label plans to "continue but at a different pace," with occasional reissues arriving as a way of "delving into the hidden histories of forgotten or underappreciated music."
