This week Mr. Industry, Red Moon Cowboy and Billy Cart are stopping by for a show. “Mr. Industry add a shot of menace for every drop of joy, a savage piece of noise to match each moment of jazzy musicality. It’s a jagged assault until it’s not, and it weaves in between those two poles throughout, via a truly enormous and inescapable sound. Magnificent, threatening, and utterly wild” - The Underground StageInfluenced by contemporary and past acts such as Nick Cave, Jeff Buckley & Wunderhorse, Red Moon Cowboy’s sound is brimming with passion and drenched in unique societal perspectives. Combining their affinity for the sounds and attitudes of British & Irish Post-Punk with their love for intimate folk storytelling and narratives, they’ve found themselves on the precipice of something extraordinary.Billy Cart is unstuck in time. The Naarm five-piece tunnel through decades of underground music and emerge with something both familiar and entirely their own. Their sound carries the urgency of DIY punk, the jagged edges of post-punk, and the loose, instinctual energy of a band that refuses to overthink itself. Billy Raffin, Dale Mamo, Gianni Daniele Castro, Jamie Kemp, and Xanthea O’Connor write songs like overheard conversations from parallel universes — disjointed yet intentional, full of dry humor and restless momentum. Their music isn’t clean, nor is it meant to be. It’s a collage of frayed melodies and intersecting ideas, stitched together with raw nerve and instinct.
