"'Double Shot' is ultimately about childlike forgiveness and understanding."
Gold Coast-based First Nations singer-songwriter Dani Teveluwe has today revealed new single and music video Double Shot, premiering via The Music.
Double Shot is her first release of 2022, following three singles in 2021, Weight Off, Let Go and Movin' On.
Teveluwe has made a reputation for charming, indie pop that lifts spirits and delights the senses, driven by her engaging, warm voice, gorgeous sonic arrangements and connection to the coastal way of life.
Double Shot meets this distinct sonic ethos, exploring the childlike sentiment of easy forgiveness.
It is a soothing single, featuring a soft strum of an acoustic guitar, gentle percussion, and clear, sweet vocals combining perfectly with peaceful melodies.
Produced by Roan Sajko and inspired by Playschool and the Maddy Jane music video for The Other Day, the visual accompaniment for Double Shot sees Teveluwe as the host of a children’s performing program, as she illustrates the importance of being kind to others.

"Double Shot is ultimately about childlike forgiveness and understanding," Teveluwe states.
"I had someone in my life that had made a habit out of hurting me. Learning that my tormentor was hurt themself, allowed me to have to courage to speak up for myself, but most importantly forgive.
"At the time I was also a primary school teacher, and every day I was in awe of my students’ kindness and compassion. I loved how easily they’d forgive each other. Fail and try again. Have a go at something that was hard. Include someone who was alone, and see the wonder in the world, that as adults we can sometimes miss.
"Naturally when we began planning for the music video, I wanted to showcase this. To celebrate the wonder and purity of our youth, and perhaps in the process inspire everyone to live a little more lightly and forgive a little more often."
