Linda Bosidis kicked off her career in music with a temp role at APRA in 1990 where she then went on to head up the first Melbourne Writers Services Department. In 1996, Bosidis landed a role at Mushroom Music Publishing (MMP) where she would eventually become Head Of A&R. In October 2018, it was announced that long-time Managing Director Ian James would step down with Bosidis taking over from January 2019.

"Linda’s success in A&R speaks for itself, but it’s her integrity and ability to get the best out of our staff and writers that will make her a great Mushroom leader." That’s what Mushroom Group Executive Chairman Michael Gudinski had to say when it was announced Bosidis would step into the Managing Director position - Bosidis has certainly proved that right and then some in her first year in the role.

Significantly there was the major restructure of the MMP team in May, with Zoe Coverdale (who also played a role in Mushroom Group’s Good Neighbour royalties deal) taking on the role of International Senior Director, Erol Yurdagul was promoted to Head Of A&R and Creative and Jules Bain became Head Of Sync and more.

MMP artists had a huge year too; Nat Dunn’s 2018 co-write with Marshmello and Anne Marie FRIENDS went 3x Platinum in Australia and Platinum in the US, UK and New Zealand amongst other countries, plus she was the first artist to be welcomed onto APRA AMCOS' The 1,000,000,000 List, which honours artists who achieve one billion streams of a track across various digital platforms. Kian’s Waiting - co-written by MMP signee Jerome Farrah - also hit 2x Platinum.

A MMP co-written track also featured in the Oscar Best Picture-winning film, Green Book, with MSquared co-writing and co-producing the track I Count On Me with Aloe Blacc. Kylie Minogue scored her sixth Australian #1 album with Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection, Archie Roach was named the Victorian Australian Of The Year in October and The Teskey Brothers picked up a Grammy nomination (Best Engineered Album, Non Classical) for Run Home Slow

There was an expansion of MMP’s joint venture with UNIFIED, as well as new signings with local artists including Joe Camilleri, Ian Moss, Kardajala Kirridarra and more, and international acts like Lil Kim, Gengahr and Aretha Franklin (estate). The Red Hot Chili Peppers also extended their deal with the group. New international catalogues include 411 Music Group, IQ Music, Jingle Punks, Africa Nostra, CMS, CTSO, G Music, Rocking Gorillas and Angry Mob.

Bosidis was also a part of this year’s Corner Award judging panel, the advisory group for both The Melbourne Sessions and SongHubs series and was a guest speaker at The Seed Fund’s management workshop.

"A complete restructure and rebranding of the company. Making significant changes in order to add value and enhance the business overall. Equal to that, having a happy, engaged, motivated, music-loving team who work seamlessly with our artists/writers and creative community. Supporting working parents (especially mothers) who make up a large percentage of Mushroom Music Publishing."
