Prior to taking on the role of Managing Director at Kobalt Music Group APAC in 2010, Simon Moor held roles as a Product Marketing Manager/A&R Manager at Sony Music Entertainment, Head Of A&R at EMI, and Head Of A&R/Creative at Sony/ATV Music Publishing Australia. Moor has also been a peer assessor for the Australia Council For The Arts and remains a board member of both AMPAL and AMCOS.

Two of 2019’s biggest Australian artists - Tones & I and Dean Lewis - publish through Kobalt and it says a lot about Simon Moor and the Kobalt Music Group team. Tones & I - real name Toni Watson - opted to publish her track Dance Monkey through the group, with it now taking out the title of the longest-running #1 single in ARIA Chart History. Kobalt are set to continue supporting her too with a neighbouring rights (public performance royalties) deal announced in early 2020. Dean Lewis extended his deal with Kobalt Music Group in December with the new agreement now covering publishing, creative and synch services for Lewis globally.

Flume was cause for celebration in 2019 too, with the producer earning a place on APRA AMCOS’ The 1,000,000,000 List in October with his track Never Be Like You. "There are many great achievements and awards that a songwriter and artist could receive but landing a place in The 1,000,000,000 List with APRA AMCOS is right up there at the top," said Moor at the time. "Never Be Like You has always been close to my heart and Kobalt is honoured to represent Flume and be a part of Harley’s global success together with Nathan, Chad, Mitch and the team at Future Classic."

Melbourne artist Angie McMahon - who took out the prestigious Grulke Prize award for a Developing Non-US Act at SXSW in March - announced a deal with Kobalt’s recording arm, AWAL, in June.

"In 2019 we were lucky to sign and work with so many great artists and songwriters and there are many highlights, but hosting Dean Lewis at the APRA Awards when he won Best Breakthrough Songwriter or sitting in the room at the ARIAs when Tones and Dean cleaned up the ARIA Awards, including winning Best Female and Best Male Artist, respectively are definitely the moments I will not forget."
