The 50 most influential people in the Australian music industry.
Since its launch in 2004, Cattleyard Promotions - helmed by Steve Halpin and Rod Little - has gone from strength to strength. In 2005, the pair kicked off the first-ever edition of Groovin The Moo festival; it now tours nationally each year. In addition to Groovin The Moo, Cattleyard Promotions has been behind events like The Plot and B-Cubed - Burgers Beers Beats - as well as launching the Cattleyard Brewing Co in 2017.
Groovin The Moo 2019 delivered a line-up of epic proportions. Not only was there some of the country’s best talent - like Hilltop Hoods, Thelma Plum, DMA’S and Angie McMahon - the festival also brought with it internationals like MØ, Coolio and Sofi Tukker. Among those international artists was Billie Eilish, with the festival locking in the US talent for the bill just months prior to her breakthrough album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? dropping and turning her into one of 2019’s most in-demand artists.
Halpin and Little continued to innovate in 2019 too with a pill-testing trial taking place at Groovin The Moo’s Canberra leg for a second year. Over 230 punters took part in the trial, with 171 substances tested, seven of which were found to be potentially deadly. Among the festival’s wins for the year was the Handpicked series - which resulted in over 110 local artists scoring places on the line-up across the country - while the Rainbow Spaces series is also set to join all future events.
"GTM offered its trademark country hospitality - a home away from home for our wonderful group of patrons (our Moo Crew). In 2019, our Community and Fresh Produce programs involved a record number of groups who proudly represented what makes their regions so uniquely special. We also have a wonderful team that is passionate and committed to bringing GTM to regional communities."
