Finally Returning To Australia, Faithless Are Paying Homage To The Beloved Maxi Jazz While Looking To The Future

Have You Heard: King Of The Travellers

Answered by: Tristan Hull

When did you start making music and why? I first started making music with my older brother (who is the vocalist in King Of The Travellers) when we were kids. I guess we did it because our uncles and cousins did too.

Sum up your musical sound in four words? Eastern Spaghetti Folk Core.

If you could support any band in the world – past or present – who would it be? There are too many to name but for the sake of argument, The Pogues circa 1988.

If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? I can’t imagine listening to one album forever without eventually drowning myself in the neighbour’s bathtub, but I guess maybe Alice by Tom Waits. For some reason I don’t seem to get bored with it.

Greatest rock’n’roll moment of your career to date? Getting yelled at by the police one night after a show for listening to Ace Of Bass really loudly on a rooftop adjacent to the hotel we were staying in.

Why should people come and see your band? We’re willing to listen to Ace Of Bass with you. Also we’re good for a pint and a hoedown.

When and where for your next gig? 22 May, Prince Of Wales, Bunbury; 24 May, Clancy’s Fish Pub Dunsborough; 29 May, Fly By Night, Fremantle.
