"Truly an album that will define the Iso-Age." - Jessica Dale

"So I guess the message in the whole record is just: Fetch the fucking bolt cutters and get yourself out of the situation you’re in, whatever it is that you don’t like. Even if you can’t do it physically."

That's what Fiona Apple told Vulture of her new album, Fetch The Bolt Cutters, when it dropped back in April.

Originally the album - Apple's first release in nearly a decade and just her fifth studio LP - was due for release in October but she felt it was more fitting to release it sooner.

It feels right too, given that most of the album was recorded at Apple's home studio, dogs barking and clutter surrounding.

Truly an album that will define the Iso-Age on future listens.
