Position: Director, Australia & New Zealand, The Orchard
When and where are you speaking? 10am, 15 Nov at the Art Centre
What’s your area of expertise and what experience do you have? I come from a mixed background that includes distribution, label and artist management, marketing, promotions and A&R. I’ve been working in and around the industry for 15 years and previously worked for independent companies like Inertia where I was for nearly seven years.
What topics will you be talking about at Face The Music? The Orchard is a music and film company encompassing distribution, client, creative and label services, and sales and marketing as well as being a globally top-ranked YouTube Multi Channel Network. There’s plenty to talk about.
What do you hope to learn from Face The Music? New perspectives and insights from delegates and fellow speakers. Conversation is where revelation happens so learning from the people I meet and listen to will hopefully allow me to walk away with fresh ideas and trajectories.
What are you most looking forward to at Face The Music? If it was going to come down to three speakers whose art has been a huge influence on me personally and in no particular order it would have to be Underground Resistance, Steve Albini and Tangerine Dream’s Edgar Froese. Really. Bloody. Excited.
What’s one question about the music industry you’d love to have the answer to? How long will it be until streaming overtakes downloads as comparable revenue for independent artists and labels and what other new revenue streams will appear in the meantime?
Face The Music takes place at Melbourne's Art Centre Friday 14 and Saturday 15 November. Tickets will be available at the door. More info here.
