'It’s a strong and, more importantly, a fun debut from an outfit that’s definitely going places.'
Huddle up for some honest-to-goodness garage rock courtesy of Tasmanian band The Saxons' debut self-titled album, premiering today on theMusic.com.au.
Featuring growling guitars, raucous percussion and impassioned vocals thanks to lead singer Nick Bennett, the four-piece have a knack for tunes that crescendo into fist-pumping euphoria.
The penultimate track, Future, exemplifies this perfectly as it takes the listener of a five and a half minute journey, swivelling between Bennett’s desperate vocals and crashes from a wall of noise.
"Our record pays homage to themes of youth, growing up and the highs and lows you can come across through this point in your life," The band said.
