The Latest DJs Attracted To Our Female Pop Stars

"To be honest, Natalie Imbruglia might be a guilty pleasure."

After performing over 70 shows across the globe last year, New York City house duo The Disco Fries, aka Danny Danger and Nick Ditri, are finally heading to Australia, ready to unleash their signature blend of big-room progressive melodies and blown-out bass lines on our dancefloors. “We've been releasing music in Australia for a few years now and we've always gotten a great response from DJs and fans over there,” says Danger. “We're hoping to connect with all of the fans that have followed us the past couple years and expose a lot more to our music.”

And while it's their first trip as a touring band, it will be the second time round for Danger, as he points out. “I visited Australia about ten years ago with my family but this will be Nick's first trip. Last time I did a lot of the typical tourist stuff so I'm looking forward to getting shown around by the local promoters/DJs and seeing that side of Australia.”

Danger says the Australian audience will be lucky enough to hear a few tracks from their recent collaborations. “We've been working with a bunch of producers throughout the summer including Tommie Sunshine, Fareoh, Aylen, SonicC, The Jane Doze and the Stafford Brothers. The tracks are all in different stages of completion but they will certainly be in our sets for the tour!” Apart from that, Danger says it'll be business as usual. “We like to keep our shows fast-paced and cover a lot of ground sonically so people can expect to hear anything from trap to hardstyle in addition to the electro and progressive sounds we're known for.”

When asked about some of his favourite Australian artists, Danger offers up a surprising selection of names. “Tommy Trash and Dirty South are the first to come to mind for me and I've followed them for years. Actually the first track I heard of Tommy Trash was his remix of another Australian artist, Delta Goodrem. And to be honest, Natalie Imbruglia might be a guilty pleasure too, haha.”

Danger says the guys still find time to make music while on tour and might even make some while they're in the country. “We get usually two or three times a week to work on tracks together but the thing that's different now is that we're on the road so much that we've gotten used to working anywhere,” he admits. “Hotels, airports, studios; we set up whenever we have time to get some work done! We both have home studios and that's definitely where we prefer to work but we also get loads done on the road too. We've got no concrete plans to collaborate with anyone while we're in Australia but we'll definitely be working so who knows what'll happen!”
