Tour Announce: Stick To Your Guns
Californian hard hitters Stick To Your Guns are playing a bunch of dates in Australia.. Influential Californian hardcore outfit Stick To Your Guns are back with their fifth studio album Disobedient.  The heavily anticipated follow-up to 2012's Diamond is set for release tomorrow (10 February) and was recorded with legendary punk and hardcore producer John Feldmann (The Used, Saosin, We Came As Romans).  STYG released an animated lyric video late last year for the ferocious What Choice Did You Give Us? - a track showcasing a clear social and political agenda. If it’s anything to go by; the overall theme of the forthcoming album is going to be darker than what we’re used to from the traditionally positive five piece. Upon Disobedient’s announcement, frontman Jesse Barnett had this to say on the album’s focus and inspiration: "Growing up in a world where we are taught to submit, blindly follow and unquestioningly comply, this album is a critique and unlearning of these Stepford mindsets.

Interview: Galtier
Geelong’s Galtier has an open-faced attitude to production, drawn from years of genre-traversing experience on the DJing circuit, and gathered influences from beyond the Continent.. Geelong-based avant-club producer Galtier (Jiah Wells) is a rarity on the Australian contemporary electronic music scene at the moment; actually adamant on breaking ground and approaching creativity with fierceness rather than formula, to come up with energising, future-forward music that stands out a mile amongst all the generic trap-infused house bangers clubgoers seem to have no problem continually lapping up of late. Galtier challenges convention with his music, and has soldered a style all of his own – but at the same time, it’s not chin-stroking shit, either – this is music with a firm stake in dancefloor action. Unfortunately for many left-minded Australian club music fans, this kind of creative and influential stuff is not embraced nearly as much as it should be by the general listening populace, wi

New Music: Sommeil - Touch
Sydney-based producer Sommeil releases an addicting, synth-pop tune.. Karlin Courtney AKA Sydney-based producer Sommeil, has unleashed the first taste of his recently-born electronic project in the form of Touch, a smooth, synth-packed jam. Imagine the smooth, soul-influenced vocal work of The Weeknd or Toro Y Moi, crossed and blended with the 90’s synth and electronic beatwork typical of artists such as Flight Facilities. The end result is something spectacular, a quick, dance-pop tune with plenty of R&B vibes from Courtney’s pervious work thanks to his soft vocal work. It’s really something else. Have a listen below and if it pulls your strings, be sure to cop the free download while it is still there: Follow Sommeil: FACEBOOK / TWITTER

San Holo Australian Tour
Disney's arch-nemesis is coming to Oz.. When we last heard from San Holo the Dutch fruity future wave producer was gearing up to release a bucketload of succulent remixes, oh and being asked by Disney to stop using San Holo or cough up $10 million due to copyright issues with the Star Wars name Han Solo. Since then the firey remixes have burst into the cyber-space, Disney are still being a pain and now San Holo is coming to Australia to presumably pay off Disney one day. And he isn't just visiting 'Australia' i.e. Sydney and Melbourne but the whole country for what will be an unmissable tour of 2015. The tour dates are below:   Follow San Holo: FACEBOOK

Interview: SOHN
Christopher Taylor AKA SOHN, takes five with Liam Apter ahead of Laneway and some sideshows.. Interviewing SOHN was not easy with phone lines dropping (mostly due to my useless phone) but with the conversation taking place across multiple continents it made for an interesting insight into the man under the hood, Christopher Taylor. And what was most intriguing for me was his versatile use of light within his set despite the fact that he was colour-blind - it's mind-blowing to think of the hugely different interpretations he could take away simply because he saw colours in a different light. SOHN is in Australia this month appearing at the Red Bull Music Academy x Future Classic Stage at St Jerome's Laneway Festival and a couple of sideshows, and will be playing a couple of special sideshows too:

New Music: Lilt - Don't Tell Me
Perth electronic trio release beautiful new track, Don’t Tell Me.. Following the release of their EP Swim back in 2013, Perth-based electronic trio Lilt (fronted by the sensational Louise Penman) have returned to the centre stage with a beautiful new single, released independently earlier this week. Don’t Tell Me, the duo's first release since their Coming Down single ten months ago, is remarkable. Swelling synth work, crystalline, soft vocals and bouncing percussion build and build until it seemingly explodes at the chorus, dense with menacing drums. Accompanied by a pretty cool video clip and also available for free download (both below), Don’t Tell Me is just the start of a massive 2015 for the group and we are pretty damn excited. New Music: Stwo - Eden (MUTO Remix)
Fast-rising Australian MUTO producer drops a fiery new remix.. Australian-based producer Miles Davidson, better known under his beat-making moniker MUTO, is no newbie when it comes to remixes. His recent remix of Justin Timberlake’s What Goes Around Comes Around has clocked over two million plays on his Soundcloud (we covered it in our 5 Under 500 a lil while BACK), and his remixes of Azealia Banks’ Chasing Time and his latest touch-up, on Stwo’s slow-burning Eden, are just as flame-emoji worthy. Eden, Parisian producer Stwo’s latest tune, is amazing in its own right, with soaring synth work, march band-like percussion and impressive vocal loops combining to create an absolutely impressive slow-burning jam. However, MUTO’s remix does the impossible by taking it to the next level, adding a deep, yet simple, breakdown packed to the brim with heaving bass and percussion loops, and goes to a few different places whilst remaining a certain flow that is, put simply, bloody great: Follow MUT

Premiere: Aela Kae - We Come Back
Aela Kae's latest single We Come Back is the perfect way to start Monday.. When I last wrote about Aela Kae's track Pure Zone I spoke of the sense of quiet embedded within her music. We Come Back takes cues from Pure Zone but showcases a delicate strength not seen before with the airy vocals and frisky drumbeat. Much like Pure Zone, We Come Back never becomes too loud but the differences appear in the elemental nature of the track seducing your attention. And that discreet difference is what makes We Come Back so soothing and enticing. It doesn't reveal itself in one listen but over time its layered beauty appears. A perfect track to start a dreary Monday if ever there was one.  We Come Back is the first song off Aela Kae's upcoming EP Reverie, and Aela Kae is also part of the same management group, Breaknative, as wunder-artist JOY. so you won't want to miss this EP.    Follow Aela Kae: FACEBOOK / INSTAGRAM

Video: Pond - Zond
Nothing will ever make sense again.. Read our recent interview with Pond HERE. Pond have been making waves recently with their video for Elvis’ Flaming Star and were so kind to let us ask them about how they’re big fans of The Mighty Boosh (interview above), and now they’ve gone and sent this as part of their latest video: “Probably the hardest part of making this was finding three elderly citizens who looked identical to what our computer projections told us Jay, Joe and Nick will look like in the twilight of their lives.” Spoiler: they just dyed their hair grey. But that isn’t the point, the point is that once you’ve watched the confusing, brain-self-destruct-inducing video that is Zond you won’t know what the point is. They’ve taken glam-rock and had it fertilise post-modernity and voila! Zond is also a damn good song on its own fusing their earlier massive rock breakdowns with some serious spaced-out moments. So keep an eye out for their album Man, It Feels Like Space Again coming

New Music: Jamie Now – Jamie Now’s Mystical Menagerie (EP)
Melbourne-based producer releases stellar future trap EP.. Fresh from releasing remixes for the likes of Golden Features, Alison Wonderland, HWLS and more, plus an EP release last year, Melbourne-based producer Jamie Now has released another cracking EP to kick off a big 2015. Entitled Jamie Now’s Mystical Menagerie, the EP explores the futuristic, chilled-out trap vibes that Australia has seemingly perfected since the rise of Flume a few years back. The EP starts with the slow-burning The Astounding Reality of the Flabbergasted Panda, which displays a balance of light synth, deep bass and chopped vocals to slowly build into a somewhat heavy song. The Sophisticated Komodo's Elegant Tea Party is a much more upbeat single, with a combo of swirling and bouncing synth packing some serious punch. The EP closes with The Unfortunate Demise of the Silver Fox which is trappier than the previously mentioned two singles. Have a listen to the EP below, which courtesy of Jamie Now, is available for
