Underworld ProfileBritish electronic pioneers Underworld are returning to Australia and New Zealand in 2027. Today, they announced exclusive headline shows in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, along with newly revealed key festival appearances.
They return to our shores after premiering their new album, Crazy, Crazy, in New York last month, which received critical acclaim.
According to a press release, the headline shows will feature two special Underworld sets per night. The excitement begins at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Tuesday, 2 March, continues at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Wednesday, 3 March, and ends at Melbourne’s PICA on Saturday, 6 March.
In addition to their headline tour dates, Underworld will appear at a trio of festivals. Fans can catch them at Electric Avenue festival in Christchurch, New Zealand, on Saturday, 27 February, as well as WOMADelaide on Friday, 5 March, and Meredith’s Golden Plains on Sunday, 7 March.
Mastercard cardholders and fans signed up to Underworld’s website have special access to pre-sale tickets. Those pre-sales open on Friday, 23 October, at 10 am local time.
The Live Nation / Secret Sounds pre-sale follows on Monday, 26 October, at 11 am local time, with the Spotify pre-sale launching on the same day, but at 1 pm. The general sale opens on Tuesday, 27 October, at 12 pm local time.
Head to the Live Nation Australia website for more ticketing information. Tickets for the festivals are now on sale.
Underworld comprises Rick Smith and Karl Hyde. It’s been over three decades since they unveiled their luminous debut album, dubnobasswithmyheadman, and their generation-defining hit, Born Slippy (Nuxx). Their success and influence continue to resonate, with the Aussie band The Jungle Giants covering the classic tune for triple j’s Like A Version earlier this year.
