“There’s no elephant in the room,” when it comes to the inspiration behind Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest film. “If it was about Scientology it wouldn’t be called The Master and it wouldn’t be this story,” he stresses at a round-table press junket. Guy Davis takes heed.

“I remember leaving the cinema after seeing Jurassic Park in 1993, cutting my [animation] reel and sending it to ILM.”

“I always tried to give them more than was in the script – more action, more production value, things they hadn’t counted on.”

Mendelsohn calls his recent run of American projects as “the afterglow of Animal Kingdom... With the exception of Batman, funnily enough,” he says. “In that case, that was my agent badgering me to put down a screen test – Christopher Nolan hadn’t seen Animal Kingdom.”

"I feel like stand-up is a really interesting art form,” Ansari. admits “It’s like a one-man play – you do a one-hour set that is very tightly scripted and constructed and honed."

"[Jo Nesbo] has an even more twisted sense of humour than I do. There were some really wicked ideas that came from Jo that we thought ‘Okay, we just can’t do this – it’s just too much.’"
