The Dew Process label party showcased upcoming artists for 2015.
Twenty-year-old Australian Eves The Behavior (spelt the American way) kicked off the night, playing guitar for her first three songs before delving into crowd favourite, Zen.
The Brisbane artist, real name Hannah Karydas, jumped and hopped around stage delivering haunting vocals and thought-provoking lyrics before finishing with TV.
Tkay Maidza took to the stage shortly afterwards and might as well have stolen the show. The charismatic Adelaide rap goddess opened with Always Been, before going into Brontosaurus and Switch Lanes. Maidza delivered a really high-energy show and kept the positive vibes flowing, grinning to the audience and back and forth with her collaborator and tour buddy DJ Elk. She closed with one of her more recent tracks U-Huh, cementing her position as triple j’s favourite It Girl.
Despite having previously opened for London Grammar, English fellas Until The Ribbon Breaks proved to be somewhat less than, well, you know, or perhaps it was having the unfortunate position of following Tkay. This reviewer found herself yawning profusely halfway through their set, which seemed to be an unlikely combination of electronic, dubstep, rock and bits of hip hop. They finished with a track they’d produced with American hip hop duo Run The Jewels, Revolution Indifference.

More than half an hour after their scheduled set time, indie-pop/indie-R&B Brooklyn trio Wet decided that it might’ve been a nice idea to walk on stage and maybe start presenting some music. They opened with Bad Idea, before performing their self-titled, four-track debut EP, Wet, which should’ve had the crowd swaying side to side but instead left us wondering if the microphone was plugged in correctly because the sound was muffled. The (usually) fluid, sugary, dreamy vocals of Kelly Zutrau sounded like they barely existed and when the band went to thank the crowd after their second last song, the message was hardly audible. Wet finished with a new track, Weak, before walking off stage to a somewhat disillusioned, apathetic audience.
