'Everything Fell Off': The Struggles That Birthed Telenova's New Album, 'The Warning'

Live Review: Traams 'Selma' (Official Video)

Traams have a new music video for their track 'Selma' that embraces the era of eighties television.

You may remember us mentioning a certain pop band from Britain called TRAAMS not long ago. The three-piece have a new EP eagerly waiting for release and in the lead up we've had a few tracks leaking out from their catalogue and there's some pretty sweet stuff in there.

TRAAMS are one of the few bands bringing indie pop back onto the musical circuit. Around 2011 there were a variety of bands flying around such as LATE OF THE PIER, DELPIC and of course TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB, now with electronic music taking over, the pop has been pushed back.

The lads have been writing and performing for a few years now and have something fresh to bring to the table. Their forthcoming EP Cissa plans on using upbeat melodies, twangy guitars and a thin layer of synths to highlight their style and scatter their name across the globe. A new track from Cissa has been released and after their track 'Giddy' got us , well.. giddy, their new song 'Selma' will no doubt get you even more excited for Cissa's release.

'Selma' has a fantastic array of floating guitars that blend incredibly well with the self-described "wonky pop" melody. The deeper vocals snake on through the bouncy drum beat and whilst listening to it, you can clearly hear the energy in 'Selma' surging out. The verses of the song are quite tame which provide a perfect palette for the chorus to just do it's thing and burst like an exploding paint tube.

The video is even more enticing as it transports us back to the days of eighties television. Many of us probably don't remember the eighties as we were either born then or in the decade following, but from what you can see in 'Selma', you have a clear picture of the era painted right in front of you. As the band play their fun track, colourful shadows sway behind them and obvious glitches in the "video tape" shake in scattered positions across the video. This is the television of the eighties and TRAAMS have utilised it well.

Cissa is to be released through FatCat Records on July 14 and knowing these boys, we'll be in for something good once it's released.
