Geelong-based singer/songwriter, JANEVA recently dropped the video for 'Humble Beginnings', and it is an endearing trip down memory lane that perfectly accompanies the track's inspirational vibe. Switching between nostalgic home videos of her childhood and live festival footage, Janeva shows us just how far she's come (and that she has always had killer dance moves.)

The clip also features an appearance from U.S.-based rapper ZenSoFly who adds a layer of grittiness to this jazz-influenced, bouncy RnB track.  The heaving live shows in the video, including highlights from Spilt Milk Festival, This That, and performances alongside LDRU, are juxtaposed with Janeva singing and dancing with her mum as a toddler and crashing what looks like a primary school talent show. By using amateur footage, Janeva successfully communicates both her gratitude for where she's at, and her vision for where she's going.

"It's a personal reminder for me that too often I second guess myself and doubt what I'm capable of," she explains, of the video. "I see so many people around me struggle with the same problem no matter what you do with your life, it can be a constant battle and it truly shouldn't be. Seeing the baby footage reminded me that music and performing is something I've always loved.  My parents surrounded me with so much music and just let me be 100% myself, which I feel is the same person I am today just slightly bigger!"

Janeva will perform at The Gasometer in Melbourne supporting Golden Vessel on February 8th, and is promising additional East Coast tour dates to be announced. Although she only has two solo singles under her belt, we will be seeing a lot more of this natural talent very soon.
