A whirlpool of neon colours and bizarre imagery, GUM has released the accompanying music video for 'Gemini'.

Multi instrumentalist and part of both Kevin Parker's performing band for TAME IMPALA and POND, Jay Watson clearly has an affinity for the left of centre. Psychedelic and poppy, the musician's focus has been GUM. Having already released two albums between 2014 and 2015, 'Flash in The Pan' is the latest album from the musician, dropping only last month. An array of synths and trippy rhythms, both the sound and the content of the album is dripping with idiosyncrasies. Particularly in the case of the lead single 'Gemini', and its eccentric music video that makes for a perfect match for this tune.

Capricious and seemingly plucked straight out of the 1980s, the music video for 'Gemini' is undeniably fun to watch. Chopping and changing between vintage-clad characters and omniscient signs and symbols, the video is spiralling world of melodrama.

Directed by Sam Kristofski, the content of the video is a creative interpretation of the song's lyrics. "I love the idea of people blaming their behaviour on their star sign," said the director, informing the otherwise difficult to interpret scenes. A large gemini symbols looms perilously over the video, a facetious mockery of this star-signed compelled behaviour.

'Gemini's music video is as effervescent and disconcerting as the track itself, a testament to the imagination and experimentation of GUM.
