"Luke Dalton’s debut EP swims and pulses through a sea of haze and twitching, odd-ball percussion."

Melting, altered vocals make their mark in opener Similar Circles; a beguiling slice of exploratory art-pop. Brisbane producer Luke Dalton's debut EP swims and pulses through a sea of haze and twitching, odd-ball percussion. While the atmospheric Trepanning tentatively builds into a bewitchingly rhythmic number, the tropical dance segment in closer Heavy Water is particularly infectious. Dalton taps into the current style of electro-pop through common techniques such as chipmunk-style vocal samples, however, this doesn't detract from The Tryst's high listenability and layers of intrigue.
