Fuzzy, overdriven guitar is given lead billing here, exploring the soundscape and seeping between every nook and cranny, though never losing sight of pop ideals.

More Speedy Ortiz More Speedy Ortiz

Named after a doomed character in '80s-'90s comic Love And Rockets, Speedy Ortiz drop Major Arcana, their major label debut after several well-received singles and EPs. Fans of Dinosaur Jr and Pavement will find much to love in this youthfully exuberant celebration of mid '90s late-period grunge. Fuzzy, overdriven guitar is given lead billing here, exploring the soundscape and seeping between every nook and cranny, though never losing sight of pop ideals. This, combined with frontwoman Sadie Dupuis' creamy vocals, a crunchy rhythm section and Albini-style production will have you wondering if the '90s ever left.
