More Pete Murray More Pete Murray

Pete Murray and his band The Stonemasons took the stage at a sold out Enmore Theatre on Friday night as a part of his national Feeler 10-Year Anniversary tour.

Murray was everything you would expect him to be; rugged and handsome with a set of biceps that were the talk of every female in the audience, he was vocally brilliant as he made his way through the album Feeler in its entirety.

It was a walk down memory lane as we were all reminded just how many hits Murray actually had on that iconic album. “Holy shit, you guys don't need any warming up here at all tonight,” said Murray, as the crowd erupted from the very second he walked out onto the stage.

This reviewer was a little surprised to hear Murray playing So Beautiful so early on in his set, as that was one hit that stood out in my memory, but as he continued to make his way through hits like Bail Me Out, Feeler, Always A Winner and Free, I was reminded that this man was far more than a one-hit wonder. This supremely talented man didn't miss a beat as he reminded us why Feeler skyrocketed to #1 all those years ago. As he's been doing at each of his shows, Murray and his band took a selfie on the stage with the audience in the background, Murray joking, “Squeeze in if you want to be in it.”

After Murray and the band had left the stage, it felt like we were going to fall through the floor, as the crowd screamed and stomped their feet, begging for an encore.  Murray happily obliged, re-entering the stage and treating us to a rendition of the INXS hit, Don't Change, Pete Murray-style (once he remembered the words). He also stumbled his way through a rendition of Better Days where he also messed up a verse, laughing it off as he beckoned the audience to help him get through it.
