The AngelsLeichhardt Oval will be home to an epic celebration featuring live music, family activities and much more in September.
One Last Roar is taking place on Saturday, 19 September, and marks the first major live music event to be held on the hallowed grounds of Leichhardt Oval in Lilyfield, NSW.
Headlined by The Angels and The Superjesus, the event is a final celebration before the historic venue closes for redevelopment.
The free, all-ages community event will also feature local acts LAHGO and Good Pash. Between live music, patrons will enjoy family activities, food stalls, and more live entertainment. Additionally, local group Oz Icons – featuring rugby league legend Wayne Pearce – will take to the stage during the day.
Colloquially described as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” Leichhardt Oval will also welcome Pro Wrestling Australia (PWA) and host a pop-up wrestling ring.
According to a press release, One Last Roar won’t be the final time live music is held at Leichhardt Oval. Part of the $40 million renovation will incorporate design elements, ensuring that music and other entertainment events return to the venue.
One Last Roar is free to attend, but tickets are essential and available now. You can secure yours via the Inner West Council website.
Inner West Mayor Darcy Byrne said of the highly anticipated event, “The free concert is Council’s way of saying thanks to our community who have fought to save this iconic ground for decades.”

Byrne continued, “There’s no place like Leichhardt Oval, and our community knows that, and we have secured funding to upgrade this iconic ground for athletes and fans of men’s and women’s football, rugby league and rugby union.
“The crowd at Leichhardt Oval is always rocking, but this will be the first time there’s been rock and roll on the field. We’re expecting this to be a party not to be missed as we toast the past and look forward to an exciting new chapter.”
