Turn Off The News (Build A Garden) is the new country-rock album from Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real. In recent years the group have built up quite the resume - Nelson co-wrote songs for A Star Is Born, collaborating with Lady Gaga on the film's hugely successful soundtrack, and was also hired as the "authenticity consultant" for Bradley Cooper's character. Promise Of The Real have been Neil Young's regular backing band since 2015, and have recorded two albums with the music icon.

Their own new record is stacked with some pretty massive features including Young, Sheryl Crow, Kesha and country music legend Willie Nelson - who you may or may not know also happens to be Lukas’ dad. The group doesn't rely on these features though, their undeniable musicianship and songwriting prowess is evident with each well-executed song.

The title track has a cool old-school rock sound with a message to match, its lyrics looking at escaping today's chaotic world and finding happiness in the simple things. The album covers all the bases - Bad Case is light and driving, Simple Life laid back and breezy, Something Real a thumping rock tune and Stars Made Of You a sweet love song.

Turn Off The News (Build A Garden) might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for country music fans it’s definitely worth a listen.
