Foo Fighters are two shows down on their epic Take Cover stadium tour of Australia.

They kicked off the run at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on Thursday (5 November), then took over Townsville’s Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Saturday (7 November).

While they were performing at the venue, frontman Dave Grohl remarked that “more bands should come to fucking Townsville.”

Video footage of his statement was captured by fans – including the Mayor of Townsville himself, Nick Dametto.

Addressing the audience from the stage, Grohl asked, “I don’t know, do many bands come up to Townsville? Do people come up here?”

After being met with quiet cheers, he said, “Not so much? Cause this is fucking great; I don’t understand why people don’t… I feel like more bands should come to fucking Townsville!”

Grohl added that when he gets home, he plans to tell his friends: “Have you been to Townsville? That place is fucking nice.”

He then asked the crowd to scream as loud as they could so “my friends can see how fucking awesome Townsville is.”

Following their Queensland shows, Foo Fighters will perform at Sydney’s Accor Stadium, Newcastle’s McDonald Jones Stadium, Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, and Adelaide’s Coopers Stadium, concluding their current run on Tuesday, 17 November.

The band return to Australia and New Zealand in early 2027, performing at One New Zealand Stadium in Christchurch and Western Springs Stadium in Auckland, followed by Perth’s HBF Park on Monday, 25 February.

Reviewing the first show of the tour at Suncorp Stadium, The Music’s Mick Radojkovic wrote: “Foo Fighters know how to bring a crowd and keep them, even over a three-hour show. While they might not have the impact of previous shows on our shores, they gave fans a bit of everything, covering all their albums, including a few surprises.”
