Finally Returning To Australia, Faithless Are Paying Homage To The Beloved Maxi Jazz While Looking To The Future

Album Review: Louis London - The Big Deep EP

Their eyes are on the prize, but not annoyingly so – although an occasional edit of one of their jammy breakdowns could be called for.

There's a confidence and competence to what Louis London do. They are a band for the mainstream of the alternative, songs like Grand seemingly designed to get bigger if necessary, including spaces for hanging the mic out over the audience to sing along. There's some cross-current rhythms, with some neatly inventive drumming adding a white boy reggae edge to the guitar chop of This Night Time. Their eyes are on the prize, but not annoyingly so – although an occasional edit of one of their jammy breakdowns could be called for.
