There’s something exciting about it, and that’s exactly the emotion that Ethiopian born, TEE NOAH provokes in all of us with his debut track ‘Indigo’

We all love a new comer. Someone to take a step away from the shadows and dazzle the world with a talent that has been lingering around us all this time. There’s something exciting about it, and that’s exactly the emotion that Ethiopian born yet Brisbane built TEE NOAH provokes with his debut track, ‘Indigo’

Rap in nature, yes, but this track is oh so much more than just another rap song. Noah’s vocals press hard against your emotions as they glide through manipulated guitar, and ease you through whirlwinds of natural soundscapes.

It's not only the beginning wolf howl intro that has a burst of strength flowing through you, but the foundation of the song has been built off an even more powerful message. “Indigo is the wolf, a metaphor of the eternal conflict of light and dark, fear and love, alpha and omega. Too often does humankind create monsters, and yet we soon learn that such things have only ever existed as a product of our minds. This marks an important lesson: once we learn that we have power over our monsters, we realise we have the power to destroy them”, says Noah.

In all these contrasting concepts, Noah's description of the track could not be more fitting, as ‘Indigo’ combines shifting elements of synths and percussive claps to embed a righteous feeling over any doubts or demons you may be holding on too. It’s a really unique rendition of rap, something that’s more slowed paced and appreciative of production elements and allows you to decipher sounds between the gentle overlapping of synths.

‘Indigo’ is a perfect debut and we couldn’t be happier that he now not only has left the shadows behind, but has claimed a rightful spot under the sunlight for the world to see, love, and appreciate. If you’re feeling a little lost, ‘Indigo’ will place you right back on your path.
