Live Review: Slum Sociable are back with irresistible new single, 'Explain Myself'

Melbourne duo Slum Sociable have released their first electric single for 2020 'Explain Myself'. This electronica infused indie-pop anthem instantly transports us to better days where the mosh is moving and grooving to the rhythmic beat of the song.

'Explain Myself' is the first single shared from the duo's forthcoming EP that is set for release later this year. This new irresistible track, which incorporates jazzy keys, infectious bass, bright electric guitar riffs, and euphoric vocals, sets a high standard for the rest of their EP which is sure to be a collection of melodious bangers.

Talking about the new single Edward from Slum Sociable said, "It came together really quickly. Hooky lyrics. Phat riff. What more could ya want?"

Slum Sociable, comprising of Miller Upchurch and Edward Quinn, recorded the new single in Sydney alongside singer-songwriter and producer Xavier Dunn who is best known for his work with Jack River, CXLOE, and Graace. They continue to organically evolve their sound in each new release with this new single being a testament to their growth and advancement as a band.

'Explain Myself' follows the release of the band's 2019 summer soaked EP L.I.F featuring their songs 'Afterthought', 'Déjà Vu', and 'Life Is Free'. Emerging on the music scene in 2015 with their debut single 'Anyway', the band has been consistently producing enthralling music attracting praise from around the world. Slum Sociable have now made a bold return to 2020 with their new single, exuding their classic indie-pop sound that keeps getting better and better with each new release. Signalling more new music from the duo in the near future, we can't wait to hear what's next.
