ERTHLINGS out of Sydney are onto something big. The four piece have been playing music together since they were eight years old. Fast forward to 2018, and the now 16 year olds are blazing a trail, sending their well-honed indie pop into the world.
The girls have recently signed with seminal Aussie tastemaker label Future Classic, so you know that they're kind of a big deal.
With just two singles to their name, their debut 'Bridges' catapulted them onto the world stage and into widespread acclaim, with praise from triple j, Zane Lowe and Matt Wilkinson from Apple Music's Beats 1 Radio, The New York Times, Refinery29, NME & heaps more.
Embodying strength and empowerment, they're following up 'Bridges' with 'Cuts & Bruises', a darling slice of indie-pop that doesn't stumble on the attitude served.

This one's a little more pop and less indie than the last, but what this shows is that they can do both, and they can do both so damn well. 'Cuts & Bruises' feels almost haunting, the way the falsetto of vocalist Issy weaves in and out of the layered production. There's those little tinges of indie in the hollow, plucked guitars, but the accentuation of these with deep, electronic tones makes for a really lush soundscape that really goes to show how well these girls a) know their sound and b) have nailed it down too.
Of the track, Issy says "'Cuts & Bruises' is about toxic relationships, and the fact that you can see bad things coming, but sometimes you do nothing about it".
They've got a couple of shows coming up too, so if you're headed along, get to know 'Cuts & Bruises' above!
