After the enormous praise of ‘Ninja’, Melbourne based producer and songstress BANOFFEE has just released her first single in almost two years, ‘Ripe’.

After her career sky rocketed from the enormous national and worldwide praise of ‘Ninja’ and subsequent other shining singles, Melbourne based producer BANOFFEE has just released her first single in almost two years, ‘Ripe’.

Exploring the big wild world of electronica, Banoffee has been creating and experimenting since 2013, nailing the ratio of perfectly mixed lyricism and contemporary pop. Using her ear for all things weird and wonderful, Banoffee has definitely paved a path for herself. Her originality is uncompromising, but as with any artist, there has to come a time where an artist must progress. Sometimes it's for the worst, but in Banoffee's case? For the best.

She felt a new creative direction was calling her name, and the West Coast of America happily opened their arms for not only a warm embrace but a collaborative friendship. Embracing her new surroundings, Banoffee's latest single perfectly depicts a fresh outlook that strays from her previous releases that were founded around her vulnerabilities and anxieties.

‘Ripe’ is testament to the musical gifts she has picked up along her journey, showcasing a rollercoaster of sonic embellishments. It begins with a compilation of spiralling instrumentals that reflect off each other to create a swirl of layers and textures. Banoffee’s vocals swiftly glide over the synths before a truly unique input of industrial samples places a level of intrigue into the track. The combination of chorus synths is where you truly begin to see her progressiveness shine, spotlighting her newfound freedom that she's exploring at full force.

Her dreamy vocals are executed with a heavenly production, woven through a vortex of electronic driven sounds and it’s a perfect kick-start to her new found artistry. Her 2015 EP Do I Make You Nervous? was something we thought would be hard to top, but her latest eccentric effort that pushes the electronic boundaries has created a track 'Ripe' for the picking, so take a bite.
