Sometimes a breath of fresh air comes courtesy a dive back into something that came before.

Ever-busy Brisbane hard-rock five-piece Interim manage to inspire feelings of déjà vu and discovery on their latest release, channelling a post-grunge blues rock vibe tempered by some complex arrangements. Opener Jack strikes a course for ’90s territory with fuzzy guitar and moody piano, strings in tow as well as Alec Snow’s smoky pipes. The man ably pitches high and low throughout, tumbling through Soundgarden-ish tracks She’s The Devil and Play Your Game, and getting a bit Caleb Followill on the stark Way Down
