The debut of Brit producer Ryan Hunn, Ghosts Of Then And Now is let down by sporadic filler. At its best, it's mesmerising, as the likes of All Night - haunted by the vocals of Mai Nestor - are interlaced with an elusive sense of mystery rarely encountered elsewhere. Patient listening will bring rewards, as discretely burbling electro such as Ra_Light opens up its charms gradually. The only downside to such subtle shadow-play is that many of these pieces seem to drift by if you're not fully plugged in.
