Her real name is Jess Higgs, and she’s always toyed with elusiveness and mystery. This sense of tension remains in her new music, the push and pull of her passions reflected in the instrumentals. She almost achieves the closeness of the debut album from The XX, although the compositions from Flume and other Future Classic collaborators are significantly less nimble. Nonetheless, the London-based singer’s hushed voice creates a sense of intimacy.
