Client LiaisonWalking over the Tanderrum Bridge towards the tennis courts, Client Liaison can be spotted posing for the paparazzi with their dancers, The Pretty Lovers. Decked out in pastel colours from head to toe, they've got matching martial arts-inspired outfits on ready for a tennis battle. We'll have to wait a couple of hours until their performance, but we're excited to see what they'll serve up later on.
In the meantime, we head on over to check out Grand Slam Oval's fantastic atmosphere, immersing ourselves in the various quarters representing Paris, New York and London that are designed as tributes to other cities that host grand slam tennis tournaments.
Northeast Party House always guarantee a great vibe and high energy. After all, as their name suggests, party is what they do best. They've come to Australian Open Live stage ready to rock and draw a large crowd early on in the evening. The band unleash their addictive melodies and catchy choruses with crowd favourites including Youth Allowance, Heartbreaker and For You. A cover of Blur's Song 2 suits them perfectly and really gets the audience super-pumped with excitement.
We cast our eyes over to the screen and watch video footage of a limousine pulling up in Canberra as Monte Morgan and Harvey Miller hop out and crack open Fosters tinnies outside Parliament House. They then emerge in real life with their band (minus bass player Tom Tilley who is still recovering from a motocross crash) onto the '90s-style office set decked out with giant water coolers bookending the band among some fake plants and an old Apple Macintosh computer. "Ok, guys, this is Australia, what a beautiful place to be! We're here for a good time, we are Client Liaison!" shouts Morgan. The sound of kookaburras can be heard as they unleash their Australian spirit and Morgan picks up his didgeridoo for a solo during Where Do We Belong.

The sun is setting on the cityscape behind us and they turn up the temperature so we can all get sexy for That's Desire. The Pretty Lovers join them for some choreographed dancing and Morgan assures us that if we want the beauty factor then it's the money that matters. They promised a multi-sensory experience and they certainly deliver. Smoke cannons detonate to turn up the tempo for Wild Life and Morgan has a quick costume change into a pink chiffon outfit with glittery karate-style headband and matching earrings. The bass kicks in on Feed The Rhythm so we can feel all the vibrations right through our bodies. Some giant tennis racket props then materialise as Miller moves down from his podium for a quick hit and a short rap.
For something extra-special, Client Liaison share a brand new song for the first time ever. There's no word on when it will be released, but this upbeat tune is an instant crowd-pleaser containing lyrical content that encourages us not to give up when the going gets tough. They then dive into an oldie (Feeling) mashed-up with a chorus of Tina Turner's What's Love Got To Do With It. "If it feels good inside, it's alright," Morgan says as he lets loose on some wild dance moves. There's one final costume change for The Pretty Lovers to complement Client Liaison's hit song Off White Limousine. "There's so much love here tonight and this one is all about loving and giving. Welcome to the world of our love!" yells Morgan. It feels like they have enough energy left to go on all night and apparently they plan to as Morgan invites everyone to join their after-party at his mum and dad's place later on. If only we knew the address!
