Tasmania putting out some solid heavy music with Zeolite's new single, 'Compulsion'.
Tasmania is known in the local punk rock scene for spawning Luca Brasi, but as far the heavier music realm goes we have Psycroptic and...um...not much else.
Well, no, that's not completely true. You also can add to that list the maniacally heavy outfit Zeolite, who recently dropped a brand new single by the name of 'Compulsion', a heavy new tune that is a strong statement about human nature and the state of our world. So you know, the cheery stuff that makes one a very happy chap.
Vocalist Fraser Mainwaring said of the song in a press release that:
"Compulsion is concentric around the perpetual tyranny of man. As with most of our tracks, we write as reflection of society but also parallel to history. In this case, the song evaluates the actions of man both throughout history and in our current political climate".
This is the first listeners will have heard from Zeolite since their self-titled debut EP that came out in February of this year, and as for Zeolite, this new song signifies a slight change for their sound, and "will see the group broadening their horizons and brings new influences to that table". Right, well if I'm being honest, it's a rather subtle musical change when compared with their corresponding material.
