"We are working hard to make this the best experience possible and can’t wait to share it with you.”

Earlier this month, Yours & Owls was approved to go ahead by the NSW Government and Ministry Of Health, and now organisers have detailed specifics around its COVID safety plan, which includes an Australian first.

The beloved event will still take place in Wollongong on April 17 and 18 with a line-up that boasts Tones & I, Cosmo's Midnight, DMA'S, Lime Cordiale and more, but it will shift from its “spiritual home” of Stuart Park to a larger site two minutes down the road, Dalton Park, to accommodate its “COVID-safe footprint”.

In an Australian first, Yours & Owls 2021 will feature two revolving stages located in the middle of the festival site, which will be split into four separate zones, each having “a state-of-the-art PA”, large LED screens, its own entry and exits, bar, dining area, toilets, merch store and more.

“We want to thank everyone for their patience and support this past year,” promoter Ben Tillman said.

“It’s been one hell of a rollercoaster ride. We are really thankful that we have been given the opportunity to bring you one of the only major festival events in the country since COVID hit. Without the support of our patrons, staff, stakeholders and industry, this would have been an impossible task.

“Our approval is the first step for our industry, we still have a long way to go to get back to the thriving live music scene we once knew. This year’s event is probably one of the most important we have staged, it is the first step in establishing that festivals can be run safely in NSW, so we need our patrons support to help open the door for a return of mass live music gatherings. We are working hard to make this the best experience possible and can’t wait to share it with you.”

Yours & Owls has also announced that, due to the border restrictions, New Zealand artists BENEE and MC Wax Mustang are no longer able to attend, but Dope Lemon and Nerve have been added to the line-up.
