US rap legends Xzibit, D12 and Obie Trice are returning to Australia in June 2024 on a wicked, once-in-a-lifetime co-headlining bill.

Kicking off the tour at Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane (Meanjin) on Friday, 21 June, the trio then head to Melbourne (Naarm) for a show at the Forum on Sunday, 23 June, and conclude the run at Sydney’s (Eora) Enmore Theatre on Tuesday, 25 June.

Called the 3 Twenty Anniversary Tour, the run notably celebrates the 20th anniversary of all three artist’s impactful albums: Xzibit’s Man vs. Machine, D12’s renowned D12 World, and Obie Trice’s Cheers are all celebrating their 20th birthdays in 2024.

Xzibit rose under the guidance of Dr Dre, who executively produced Man vs. Machine. The album went on to land at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart. As well as a successful music career that kicked off in the early 2000s, Xzibit has hosted Pimp My Ride and Cribs and starred as an actor in the TV series CSI: Miami, Hawaii Five-O and many more.

Meanwhile, D12’s D12 World hit multi-platinum status with singles including Git Up, My Band, and How Come. Obie Trice wrote and recorded his massive debut album, Cheers, while signed to Eminem’s Shady Records label. The multi-platinum certified album featured a stacked list of guest stars, including Eminem, Nate Dogg, Timbaland, Lloyd Banks, 50 Cent, Dr Dre, D12 and Busta Rhymes.

Trice has since launched his own record label, Black Market Entertainment, and released his last three albums independently.

Tickets to the 3 Twenty Anniversary Tour go on sale on Wednesday, 14 February, at 9 am local time via Destroy All Lines.

Ten years ago, Xzibit told The Music about why West Coast rap is still relevant. To this day, we think he’s right. Here’s what he said:

“West Coast has always had a distinctive sound and a distinctive presence. Like everything, the basic principle stays the same, but the characters change, and the faces change. The West Coast is about having a lot of pride in where we come from and having the music be a reflection of that. It's more like a movement than an individual push.”
