You can't beat reality TV.
The reign of reality TV continues on the ARIA charts this week as Dami Im, winner of this year's season of The X Factor, debuts in the top spot on the ARIA album charts with her self-titled debut album. This comes after her single Alive saw the top spot of the singles charts upon its release a few weeks ago.
It's a significant win for both Im and the show itself, with the 25-year-old Queenslander becoming the first contestant from the show to see the top of the album charts. Last year's winner Samantha Jade managed to top the singles charts, but couldn't follow up with the release of her long-player.
King of rap Eminem was unable to hold on after two weeks on the top of the chart, he's in thrid spot with The Marshall Mathers LP2, behind Im and Katy Perry's Prism.
The other debuts in the top ten this week come from British girl group Little Mix with Salute (four), Robbie Williams' tenth studio album Swings Both Ways (five) and The Best Of Nickelback Volume 1 by the most polarising band around, Nickelback (six).

Further down the chart, Aussie alt rock legends Spiderbait's first record in almost ten years – Spiderbait – has debuted in 30th spot; not quite the number 14 spot the band achieved with 2004's Tonight Alright, but an admirable debut all the same.
Creeping into the charts for the first week is British rock troubadour, and recent Bluesfest announcement, Jake Bugg with his Rick Rubin produced Shangri La LP sitting in 38th spot, one spot below the soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire – which features Lorde, Coldplay, Of Monsters & Men, Imagine Dragons, The Lumineers and just about every other hot act in the world of music right now.
Over on the singles chart, Eminem's The Monster (featuring Rihanna) and Katy Perry's Roar once again fill positions one and two respectively. Last year's X Factor winner Samantha Jade is the highest single debut for this week, her Soldier single hits the chart at number 17, with Magic!'s Rude entering at 28, Lily Allen's Hard Out Here debuting at number 33 and Joel Fletcher (feat. Savage)'s Swing in at 39.
