"We have developed into a full service music company where compilations make up one of the many facets of our business."

With esteemed electronic label Ministry Of Sound Recordings acquired by Sony Music Entertainment UK overnight, the label's Australian arm have released a statement regarding the purchase's effect on the Australian business.

The acquisition will mean the beloved Ministry Of Sound compilations, having sold in excess of 7 million copies here, will be released as usual on the label until June 2017, after which they will move to Sony Music Australia. All staff and all other aspects of the company will continue business as usual.

Minister Of Sound Australia's CEO Tim McGee says, "We have been expanding the business for some time allowing us to focus our energies on the future – and that future is all about artists with an international footprint. We have had a brilliant run with Ministry of Sound compilations, however as music consumption has evolved, so too has our expertise. We have developed into a full service music company where compilations make up one of the many facets of our business."

Ministry Of Sound Australia have also announced a change in name in the near future, perhaps in an attempt to better reflect the company's wide offerings of music, management, touring and publishing services, including labels like Hussle and Astrx, event agencies Nuffsaid and Soapbox and content companies Joker Theory and 120 Publishing.
