And we've got a double pass to give away

Weekend Vines, the festival taking place in the New South Wales country town of Wee Waa, has received approval from the council to hold the event.

Announced in the wake of Daft Punk's plans to hold the premiere listening party for their new album Random Access Memories in the tiny country town, theMusic.com.au broke the news of the event and its first artists.

Originally named Daft Vines, the festival has been rebranded to Weekend Vines with tickets now on sale.

Today festival organisers claimed to theMusic that the Mayor of Narrabri Shire Conrad Black told them on Sunday that the event would be approved “without an issue”.

Promoters Yaldi Boomtime added that their Office Of Liquor, Gaming & Racing application for extended trading hours has been processed and will likely be posted on the town's noticeboard today. In the event of local opposition the Seplin Estate Winery, where the festival is being held, currently holds a license from 5am to midnight Monday through Saturday and 10am through midnight Sunday, so organisers will be “proceeding with the event in some capacity regardless of the extended license approval”.

With a capacity of 2,500 tickets are on sale now for $120 plus booking fees. It is important to remember that the event is separate from the official Daft Punk listening session and so a ticket to that event, of which there are 4,000, doesn't guarantee to entry into Weekend Vines. Alternatively, a Weekend Vines ticket doesn't give you entry into the Daft Punk listening party.

With this in mind, and thanks to the festival's organiers, we have one double pass to giveaway to a reader this week. Simply fill out the form below to be in the run. Please note that by entering the competition you will begin receiving theMusic.com.au's daily newsletter Your Daily SPA.
